What Grimsby Town F.C. means to me?

When someone asks me "Who do you support?" and I reply "Grimsby" I get the disgruntled and judging look as in "Why Grimsby?" to them people i say, Grimsby holds a very special place in my heart and they always will. Grimsby is a great club, with quality fans who follow the mariners across the country, clocking up the miles. Whether it's taking 1,000+ to Mansfield on a Saturday or 5,000 to Stamford Bridge on a Wednesday night, the black and white faithful will be their chanting.
My first memory of Grimsby was attending a match with my dad back in November 2002 vs Leicester City we lost 2-1. I attended regular games with my dad, it became tradition that we was in Blundell Park on a Saturday or a Tuesday night - sadly my dad passed away in 2012 and didn't get to see Grimsby back in the football league after that day in Burton in 2010.
Grimsby to me means home, cliché i know but truthfully without Blundell Park and Grimsby Town F.C. I'd be lost, football brings the life into me again whenever i have a not so good day with missing my dad. I go to Blundell Park or follow the mighty mariners up and down the motorway i forgot all that stuff for 90 minutes.
When my dad passed away in 2012, Blundell Park became a hideout for me, somewhere to feel like me again and not "That kid whose dad has just died" sometimes i'd have an empty seat next to me on purpose for my dad, silly i know but i didn't feel right without him by myside. My love for Grimsby runs deep, i may not have been a fan as long as a lot more people, but supporting since 2002, is a love that will never go away.
Grimsby is a team adored by many, to us Blundell park is more than a stadium it's a church, it's not just a kit it's our skin. We're not just a couple hindered we're thousands. Football is a religion to many, one of my favourite football quotes came from Bill Shankly and it is "Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude, i can assure them it's much more serious than that"
UTM!
