#LetFansIn

After my last blog post about my views on whether should fans be allowed back into stadiums, I have gathered some opinions from some Grimsby Town players & ex-Grimsby players.

Here is a petition if you wouldn't mind signing for let your voices be heard! #LetFansIn - https://bit.ly/33xCna8

As always, thanks to the players who took time to answer this question "it's quite a topical one at the minute following on from my post last night. As a player - what's your opinion on the #LetFansIn movement at the minute? if we can go to cinemas and pubs in enclosed environments but can't be socially distanced in a stadium outside"

James Mckeown (GTFC Captain); Think I feel the same as any single person in the country, it doesn’t make sense,as long as it’s done in the right way (it might mean reduced crowds, separate rows etc) I can’t see no reason for it not to happen, firstly it’s rubbish without crowds and secondly we as a club like all clubs needs fans and fans/human beings need sport/football.

Louis Robles; (Ex-Grimsby Striker) I think it would beneficial to let fans in. The experts have already suggested the virus is difficult to spread outdoors, as opposed to indoors, which pubs and cinemas are, so what sense is here in that? My opinion is that at first we should allow a specific % of the stadia capacity so fans can be spread around, a simple and careful procedure could effectively save football clubs financially so it would be very beneficial

Danny Collins (Ex-Grimsby defender & captain) Yes Ben exactly that, if people can go to pubs, restaurants & Cinema’s which are all indoor venues, then they should definitely be allowing a percentage of fans back into football stadiums depending on the capacity of each stadium. 10-15% i think is realistic and see how things go from there.

Ludvig Ohman (Grimsby defender); It’s a hard question, I would of course love to have the fans back in the stadiums.. I’m not to updated about how the government think regarding the issue here but in Sweden the government are scared of big gatherings at the pubs and that’s one of the big issues. I can only imagine that’s one of the problems here as well.
