Philip Day; His views

Philip Day, appointed Grimsby Town chairman on 4th May 2020 during the clubs toughest time ever - due to the Covid-19 pandemic which curtailed football. Prior to Philips appointment as Grimsby Town Football Club chairman, the club had run without a chairman for several years

Philip Day on #LetFansIn It is critical to let fans in for two reasons. The first is financial. We will be down approximately £1,250,000 income this season with still having the same outgoings. Secondly football needs fans. The atmosphere without is sterile and am sure has an effect on players.

Philip Day on Ferran Soriano's idea to implement Premier league B teams into the EFL

I am on record at a previous fans forum in saying that GTFC will never vote for the admission of B teams in the EFL. Clubs like ours are part of the community and to replace some as would be necessary to include B teams would destroy the important link between football and the community. Likewise I am totally opposed to the Project Big Picture announced yesterday. This is better described as Project Avarice in the Times today. It just favours the big 6 in the PL who will have more power and control even over EFL teams. No no no!
